Nation's new Anthem "ALL ISSS WELL"

Dil se bolo...ALL isss well.

3 Idiots of our nation said these words, “ALL isss well”, means everything is fine. yes here m talking about the most loved movie of the season, of the year, “3 Idiots”. Since its release, this movie is getting rave reviews from all critics and audience however I would like to bring to notice some funny moments shown in the movie which despite being really witty were actually not and have tormented the sentiments of some people.

To begin with let me make it clear that I am a big fan of Aamir Khan and really like the way he works, his dedication, his ideas, love for his work and the message that he tries to put across through his way of storytelling. I was the first one to tell all my friends to go and watch the movie and I myself wanted to see it 1st day 1st show. As anticipated this is a great movie and loved aaaa... laughed watching it at many places. At some instances I stood from my seat and literally clapped and whistled. Unfortunately where it was most liked by youngsters, it may have hurt the feelings of some elders.

Some of the sequences in the movie are absolutely fabulous and the learning which they are providing is worth applauding. The learning and a message to society seemed similar to the message of the movie "Tare Zameen Par" i.e. criticizing our old and backward education system. The perfect learning being, “try to excel in whatever you do and victory will follow you”. Now I am a big fan of this message and the movie and the actors and the director.

We liked the message in ‘tare zameen par’ as it hit direct to its audience and was too the point but in case of 3 idiots it was shown in a different vision. Am myself is of the opinion that in order to clear an examination one need to understand the basic of the subject and not just mugup things – (teaching in the movie). I got low marks in my college despite being a bright student in school coz the subjects in our course required us to cram it and I didn’t like doing it. No Aamir Khan came to my rescue to explain me the basic concepts of my boring subjects.

However following this heroism thought and message of the movie it has shown some sequences wherein fun have been made of some serious issues. Raju (Sharman Joshi) is too hapless in the movie and wants to be an engineer to end all miseries of his family. His paralyzed father, his old and ever crying mother, his 28 yr old unmarried sister and no family income, all expectations from their only son – u feeling pity, don’t be coz this is the most hilarious scene of the movie. I would have felt offended if I would have been in Raju’s place in real life. To all this Rancho (Aamir) is telling Raju to be carefree and learn the basic first before appearing for his examination. As this is the hindi movie so he has to be successful at the end however this carefree and being transparent attitude would have cost Raju a hell lot of things. Everyone is not Aamir Khan or his buddy who could take grievous risks and still manages to win at the end.

In another incidence, Raju and Farhan (Madhavan) while searching for their lost friend Rancho goes to Javed Jaffery. They take Javed Jaffery’s recent died father’s ‘ashes’(asthia) and warns him to disclose the truth about Rancho’s whereabouts otherwise they will put the asthia into the commode. I laughed like crazy but my father felt it in other way. He said there are zillion more funny ways to get the truth out from someone but why they are disgracing the dead.

A movie is a reflection of our society. Learning for many and youngsters, teenagers, kids follow the things that hero is doing and will dislike things that a villain is doing. That’s why hero is shown as a good human being in most movies because there are lot of impulsive and juvenile followers but in the movie 3 heroes (Aamir, Sharman, Madhavan) are shown pissing in front of their professor’s house at night. Do they want kids to get inspired and follow them? They usually get drunk in college at night and then talk wise.

Sometime back, in one of Aamir’s interview on a TV channel he said, “I didn’t like the movie BLACK”. Getting dazed by his statement the journalist asked the reason behind his bold statement to which he replied, “In the movie Amitabh Bachan is beating a deaf and blind kid in order to teach her. Child abuse is shown in the movie which people watching it might follow, which is not right.” I agree but why is he showing serious offence in his movie like pissing outside your professor’s house for fun, youngsters might follow it.

The last scene of the movie was shot in Delhi at “Imperial College” wherein Kareena’s sister is pregnant. Kareena is a doctor, she has a quarrel with her father (Boman Irani) and she leaves her house, far from everyone in disgust. Now her sister is having labour pains. Options are to take her to the hospital but you are mistaken, in few hours rain has poured so heavenly that roads got blocked coz of water logging. No ambulance can come to take her nor Kareena can come to her sister. Now what is the option???think….. our own hero and his friends will do the delivery of the baby. Total filmy... (just few moments before he and his friends were rusticated from the college). At that point I wondered, when the time Delhi was got choked with so heavy water logging that vehicles were not able to move even an inch for several hrs. ok hindi movie, kuch bhi ho skta hai... Now they have everything intact and are ready to do the delivery buutttt hindi movie again electricity went off. He still manages to get the electricity with the help of car batteries. Kareena’s sister is Boman Irani’s (their professor who has rusticated them from college couple of minutes ago) daughter.

So finally baby is born, all kudos to Aamir Khan, the hero (whereas a whole team worked together) but credit has to go to only THE HERO. Boman Irani gets emotional and cancels his rustication orders and gives him his precious pen which he kept it with him for a long time to give it to the brightest student he will ever come across. Great naa… A person with engineering background can now work as a part time doctor. Just wanted to remind you that nothing personal, no one is as big fan of Aamir Khan as I am.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and thought it as a prudent decision of the makers and actors to be a part of such film. But being a true and honest fan, I wanted to bring certain things to notice which most people have missed mentioning. Reports said that “Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" makes a business of Rs 100 crore in 4 Days‎” (source: http://www.breakingnewsonline.net/bollywood/238-3-idiots-do-rs-100-crore-business.html) and it is sure to make more business and may even break records of all movies made in this genre or this year. Kudos to the team but just be more concerned towards the outcome and impact on society. It has the highest “entertainment quotient” from all the movies I have seen till now.

Nice analysis jassi. I have also watched 3 idiots. I liked the movie a lot but also it cant be denied that few things are shown in excess. There are many other ways to portray such feelings or incidents. I do not want to name such scenes here because those who have seen the movie they know about it.

Great Post Jassi.... how articulately you have shown the flip sides of the things. I agree with you on Raju's family's plight taken lightly and disrespect to the dead..... though an exaggeration in the delivery scene is permissible i guess as ITS BOLLYWOOD ;-). I am impressed with the overall analysis of three idiots.
